A 12mm (1/2") wide genuine leather cat collar, personalised with a hand-stamped nameplate.

Made from premium veg-tan Italian leather, which has been dyed all the way through using non-toxic water dyes. The edges of the 2mm leather have been rounded and smoothed for your cat's comfort.

The cat collar features a Duraflex breakaway safety buckle, which is designed to come apart should your cat become tangled. Paired with rust-proof solid brass hardware in your choice of natural brass (gold coloured) or nickel plating (silver coloured).

Your cat's name and your phone number will be hand-stamped on the nameplate.

Please note that the bell is decorative only, the jingle is very faint. If you would prefer not to have a bell and/or loop attached, please let us know in the comments box at checkout.

Please note that this collar is made to measure and is non-adjustable, please see below for instructions on how to measure your cat for his/her new collar. If you would prefer your cat's collar to be adjustable, please see our Adjustable Cat Collar here.

CARE & CONSIDERATIONS

With appropriate care, this leather collar should last your cat a good many years. It is a breakaway collar, so if your cat finds itself in a tricky situation it will pull apart to free the cat with minimal injury.

As our collars are entirely handmade by us, marks from the tooling process and minor inconsistencies in the stamping will occur. Neither will detract from the quality and beauty of the collar, in fact we think this adds to the charm of choosing a handmade, unique product rather than mass-produced one.

LEATHER

Leather is a natural material and it can display natural marking and colour variations. Over time, the leather will soften with the oils from your cat's coat, developing a natural patina. With a bit of love and care, leather ages gracefully! Give it the occasional clean and recondition with leather dressing, and it will reward you with many years of service. Avoid getting it saturated with water as this can cause the leather to become brittle - not to mention an unhappy cat! If your leather cat collar does get wet, allow it to dry naturally and then recondition with a good quality leather dressing.

BRASS

Brass will naturally dull and tarnish over time; you can bring yours back to a beautiful sheen by polishing with brass cleaner or the juice of half a lemon mixed with 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Alternatively, you can leave it to develop a beautiful, natural patina.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR CAT'S NECK

Please note: this leather cat collar is non-adjustable so it is really important you take an accurate neck circumference measurement. If you need an adjustable collar please click here.

Using a soft tape measure, record the circumference of the neck at the point where a collar would naturally lie. Pull the tape or string so that it is snug but not tight. Add your measurement to the personalisation text box when prompted. This measurement will be the final size of the cat collar - it is non-adjustable.

LENGTH

Using a soft tape measure, record the circumference of the neck at the point where a collar would naturally lie. Pull the tape so that it is snug but not tight. Enter this measurement in the personalisation text box when prompted. This measurement will be the middle hole of the collar, we will add another two holes either side at 3/4" intervals. If your dog is a puppy, please let us know and we will make an allowance for growth when sizing the holes for the collar.

Please feel free to give us a range (up to 12cm, i.e. 38-50cm) so that we can make sure there are enough holes to suit your dog's growth. We can be very flexible with the number of holes provided in the collar.

WIDTH

This is personal preference, but as a guide choose 1/2" for tiny dogs, 3/4" for small dogs, 1" for medium dogs and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" for large dogs.

Care Instructions

LEATHER

Leather is a natural material and it can display natural marking and colour variations. Over time, the leather will soften with the oils from your dog's coat, developing a natural patina. With a bit of love and care, leather ages gracefully! Give it the occasional clean and recondition with leather dressing, and it will reward you with many years of service. Avoid getting it saturated with water as this can cause the leather to become brittle. For dogs that love to swim, we recommend keeping a secondary, nylon collar for water-based outings. If your leather dog collar does get wet, allow it to dry naturally and then recondition with a good quality leather dressing.

We recommend using our leather balm regularly.

BRASS

Brass will naturally dull and tarnish over time. You can leave it to develop a beautiful, natural patina or you can bring yours back to a beautiful sheen by polishing with brass cleaner.
