A genuine leather dog leash / lead with solid brass fittings to match our leather dog collars. Available in three widths - 1/2", 3/4" or 1" and 11 premium leather colours.

Approx. 48" (122cm / 4 foot) long - if you would like it to be shorter please let us know.

Choose all one colour or customise your leather lead by choosing a contrasting colour for the handle.

Choose from either gold (solid brass) or silver (nickel-plated solid brass with stainless steel nameplate) hardware colours.

If you wish, we can add one of our hand-stamped nameplates to your custom dog lead - it will be attached a short distance from the O ring on the strap part of the lead (though if you would like it placed elsewhere we are happy to do so). Please let us know the name and number details in the comments box at checkout.

We usually recommend the 3/4" lead as it is a standard width and very comfortable to hold, especially for women. The 1" is equally as comfortable but slightly wider so is more suited to larger hands. The 1/2" lead is only suitable for small dogs due to the strength of the narrower leather.

Sizing Instructions

DOG - HOW TO MEASURE YOUR DOG'S NECK

LENGTH

Using a soft tape measure, record the circumference of the neck at the point where a collar would naturally lie. Pull the tape so that it is snug but not tight. Enter this measurement in the personalisation text box when prompted. This measurement will be the middle hole of the collar, we will add another two holes either side at 3/4" intervals. If your dog is a puppy, please let us know and we will make an allowance for growth when sizing the holes for the collar.

Please feel free to give us a range (up to 12cm, i.e. 38-50cm) so that we can make sure there are enough holes to suit your dog's growth. We can be very flexible with the number of holes provided in the collar.

WIDTH

This is personal preference, but as a guide choose 1/2" for tiny dogs, 3/4" for small dogs, 1" for medium dogs and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" for large dogs.

Care Instructions

LEATHER

Leather is a natural material and it can display natural marking and colour variations. Over time, the leather will soften with the oils from your dog's coat, developing a natural patina. With a bit of love and care, leather ages gracefully! Give it the occasional clean and recondition with leather dressing, and it will reward you with many years of service. Avoid getting it saturated with water as this can cause the leather to become brittle. For dogs that love to swim, we recommend keeping a secondary, nylon collar for water-based outings. If your leather dog collar does get wet, allow it to dry naturally and then recondition with a good quality leather dressing.

We recommend using our leather balm regularly.

BRASS

Brass will naturally dull and tarnish over time. You can leave it to develop a beautiful, natural patina or you can bring yours back to a beautiful sheen by polishing with brass cleaner.
