This flat BioThane® dog collar – also known as a Centre Ring or Field Collar – features two straps joined with a central O-ring, giving the collar freedom to move and flex.
Originally designed for working and hunting dogs, the centre-ring style offers extra manoeuvrability and may help the collar ‘roll’ off if it’s ever caught on branches or obstacles during outdoor adventures.
Each collar is crafted with care in our NZ workshop – made with a focus on quality, comfort, and quiet, practical style. Pair it with the matching waterproof lead here.

All of our collars and leads are handmade in our own workshop, which means we can repair, resize, or refresh them at any time. When you’re ready for a new look, we can replace the strap and reuse your existing hardware - giving your custom piece a new lease on life.
Getting the size right means a better fit and a more comfortable collar for your dog. Here's how to measure your dog’s neck so we can make their collar just right - plus tips for growing puppies.
We strongly suggest providing an accurate measurement when placing your order. Old collars can stretch or sit differently, so measuring them often gives an inaccurate size - a quick neck measurement using the guide below will give the best fit.
1. Using a soft tape measure, record the circumference of the neck at the point where a collar would naturally lie. If you don’t have a tape measure, you can use a piece of string, ribbon, or strip of paper, then lay it flat against a ruler to measure the length.
2. Pull the tape so that it is snug but not tight - close enough that the collar will sit securely without slipping over the head, while still remaining comfortable for your dog. Record the measurement.
3. Enter this measurement in the Neck Circumference field when prompted. This measurement will be the middle hole of the collar, we will add at least another two holes either side.
Puppies - If your dog is a puppy, please let us know and we will make an allowance for growth when sizing the holes for the collar. Please feel free to give us a range (up to 12cm, i.e. 24-36cm) so that we can make sure there are enough holes to suit your dog's growth. We can be very flexible with the number of holes provided in the collar.

The collar is so cool, very beautiful colours, we chose a coral and yellow combo - our dog Buddy looks like a Hawaiian sunset 😂 the gold engraved plate feels a bit luxurious. Love it. No more average collars. Thank you.

It took me FAR too long to choose a collar style and color combination but I am so happy with the outcome! I even messed up my color option on the order and I immediately reached out and they fixed it no problem. Came pretty quickly from NZ to CA, USA. (About 2 weeks) Brass/gold hardware is beautiful, the colors are vibrant/eye catching and the biothane material is great for cleaning and reapplying to my slightly messy border collie/aussie girl. I chose orchid and dusty turquoise with the strap in mandarin. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Now my dog can’t lose her hanging dog tag anymore. The collar is great from farm life to beach life. I’ve found it hard to get a collar that lasts for Ralph but the bio thane collar is great quality and Ralph loves getting comments from people about how good it looks!
