Designed for flexibility, our Dog Lead Extension is a simple yet versatile addition to your walking setup. Handmade in New Zealand from genuine BioThane®, it features a solid brass trigger clip at one end and an O ring at the other, allowing you to easily extend the length of your lead or connect multiple leads together.
Use it on its own to add extra length, or pair two extensions with our Basic Dog Lead to create a split lead – the perfect solution for walking multiple dogs at once. Strong, waterproof, and easy to clean, it’s built to handle everyday adventures with ease.
Optional Nameplate
Add a custom hand-stamped nameplate in solid brass or stainless steel, securely riveted to the lead. With your details clearly displayed, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your lead can always be identified if misplaced.

BIOTHANE®
BioThane® is a premium brand of coated webbing, created by bonding a PVC or TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) coating to a polyester or nylon core. The result is a strong, durable, and waterproof material that’s lightweight, easy to clean, and resistant to chewing and scratching.
We only use genuine BioThane® because of its proven quality and reliability – unlike cheaper alternatives on the market, it maintains its strength, finish, and performance over time.
HARDWARE
Premium hardware, cast from solid brass, selected for maximum strength to ensure our products remain rust-free for life. All hardware is kept securely in place with strong solid brass rivets.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
Our BioThane® dog leads are custom made with quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design that prioritises your dog's comfort and safety.
Each dog lead is meticulously handmade, and our nameplates are hand-stamped. Minor tooling marks or inconsistencies in the stamping enhance the unique charm and human element of your custom dog lead.

WIDTH
3/4" is a good size for most dogs. 1/2" suits small breeds and 1" suits large breeds or if you like a thicker handle.
Break Strength (approx.):
1/2" (13mm): 225kg
3/4" (19mm): 340kg
1" (25mm): 450kg
The BioThane® thickness is 2.5mm.
LENGTH
Choose from various lengths, depending on the height of your dog. If you'd like different length that is not listed, please let us know.
COLOUR
Your choice of MANY colours of waterproof BioThane® strapping.
HARDWARE
Your choice of either gold (solid brass), silver (nickel-plated solid brass) or matte black (PVD solid brass) hardware.
NAMEPLATE
If you would like a nameplate added, your dog's details will be hand-stamped and clearly seen on the solid brass or stainless steel nameplate.
Nameplate Dimensions:
Small (for 1/2" and 3/4" wide leads) - 50 x 9.5mm - up to 2 lines of information in 2.5mm text
Large (for 3/4"and 1" leads) - 70 x 16mm - up to 3 lines of information in 3mm text.

If your dog needs to be tied up or left unattended for a while, we recommend using a heavy-duty lead made for that purpose, and saving this custom lead for walks and training. While our leads are extremely sturdy, and will withstand forceful tugging, there are determined dogs out there for which any lead is no match!
